Praying for the electoral process is our first step in seeing the fulfillment of 1 Timothy 2:1-2. We need to be obedient in prayer before our leaders are selected. We want to invite God into the process of electing those leaders who will ultimately allow us to lead “peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness”.
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. (1Timothy 2:1-2 NIV)

Church
God, we come before you to pray for our churches. We ask for a spirit of humility in the Church and an outreach toward those whom the Bible calls “the least among us.” May Your churches preach the gospel of Christ powerfully. May there be unity between all your churches. We ask for compassion to come over the Churches so that we will begin seriously to live out the lifestyle of Jesus in our communities. Lord, help strengthen the call to intensive prayer so that it is heard throughout the churches. We ask for a spirit of courage to rise up within the church with a commitment to do whatever it takes to see the fulfillment of your purpose in our nation. We ask for Christ’s peace to live in our hearts and the councils of our nation. Finally, we ask that Christians to be given places of leadership in government, courts, and law schools across the nation so they will stand for a godly basis for law. Amen. (Matt. 25:40, Rom. 1:16, Phil. 2:1-4, Col 3:15, Josh. 1:9)
